DIY retailer B&Q has opened a new high street store Wood Green, North London, which will allow customers greater access to home improvement materials and essentials.
Retail Gazette reports that the express store will stock paints and paint mixing services, decorating and power tools, decor and lighting, gardening tools and supplies, house plants, hardware, electrical, and plumbing supplies.
The new store will also feature a design studio so customers can design, plan, and purchase kitchens and bathrooms.
Customers will also be able to order from over 20,000 products available on diy.com and have the option to Click & Collect or arrange for home delivery.
B&Q Wood Green store manager Matthew Fernandes said: “My team and I are very excited to welcome North London residents into our latest Wood Green store.”
He said that with the increasing trend in home improvements over the past few years, and the brand’s commitment to great value, the store is looking forward to offering faster and easier access to its range of home improvement products on the high street, as well as help and advice to anyone who needs it.
“I’m also pleased to say that the opening of our new Wood Green store has created 18 jobs in the local area,” Fernandes added.
The opening of the new store in Wood Green follows a spate of similar smaller store openings that reflect the change in customer expectations for speed and convenience.
The new store also boasts a losing bay at the front for trade customers, to allow easy collection of paint, timber, and other supplies.
